As an introductory post, I thought it best to inform my future readers a little about myself and what I plan to do with this website.  I will keep the personal details brief.  If you wish to know more about my background and history, I invite you to my About Me section.

In short, I guess you could say that I grew tired of living an “ordinary” life.  I wasn’t happy where I was in life, and all of the bullshit was bringing me down.  I decided that a change was in order.  I packed my car with various camping equipment and hit the road for Colorado.  I have only been doing this for about two weeks, but already I have had so many interesting adventures and memories made.  I feel like I am on the right path for myself.  For years I struggled with different levels of depression and chronic insomnia.  I feel like since getting out into nature and living a nomadic life has helped my overall mental health.  I don’t think everyone is suited to that type of living, but I think everyone could benefit from taking a few days off and being alone with his or her thoughts.

I will be updating this site with pictures and videos from my travels, but I want this project to be more than just a photo and travel blog.  I would like this space to be a place where like-minded individuals can share experiences, knowledge, and mutually support one another.  I wanted a place free from the typicall social media garbage and political rants.  My end goal is to use this site to help bring awareness to a social issue that I feel is important.  I will be posting more about that later.  For now, I am enjoying the journey.  I have met many fascinating people in my travels already, and I am looking forward to connecting with more people.

I am new to the whole blogging thing, and figuring out how to customize, design, and implement different features is taking me some time to learn.  I ask you to please bear with me as I get this site to what I have envisioned.
